Get Google Wallet on Your Galaxy Nexus
>By Christopher Weaver
Those who will be purchasing the Galaxy Nexus might expect to get a taste of the Google Wallet experience, disappointingly though the service is not currently supported. This problem can be remedied with the help of a workaround created by MoDaCo which entails unlocking the bootloader and installing their custom ROM, which can be found in their forum. Keep in mind that all noobs should proceed with caution. If you do decide to go through the process there is light at the end of the tunnel, once signed up to Google Wallet you will receive a free $10 credit to spend as you see fit.
The interesting part to note is that this is indeed Google’s latest flagship device, and considering that Google’s mobile payment system is Google Wallet, one would assume it would be on the device. Currently the only device that supports Google Wallet is the Nexus S 4G from Sprint. The most probable reason is that Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are all making a push for their own mobile payment system known as ISIS. This makes us wonder if Google Wallet is dead before it even got going. If Google can’t get their own mobile payment method on their own phone, than what chance do we have of this becoming widespread.
