Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0 to be Available October 16th

Samsung unveiled their latest mobile gadgets at a New York press event yesterday. The Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0 are two Android powered devices that give you all the function of a smartphone, minus the calling and mobile connectivity. Expect to see the typical plastic look that Samsung is known for, but with some pretty decent specs. The Galaxy Player 4.0 features a 4″ WVGA display, 3.2 MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1.200 mAh battery, 8 GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot to add extra storage. Oh yeah, and it’s running Gingerbread 2.3.5. Not a bad device for $229, but if bigger is better in your life than the 5 inch model might be more for you. The Galaxy Player 5.0 sports the same specs as it’s little brother, but with a few upgrades. It’s got a 2,500 mAh battery and has an LED flash on the rear of the device. More screen real estate, more battery power, and a flash for an additional $40 dollars, making this device come in at $269.
Expect these devices to be available on October 16th. Keep in mind, if you’re too broke for a $40 a month data plan, maybe one of these wi-fi Galaxy Players might be right up your alley.
