Possible Defective Wintek Touch Panels Might Impact iPhone 5 Supply
By Christopher Weaver

According to a report from Digitimes, Apple may experience a slight shortage of devices on launch of the iPhone 5. Wintek, who produces 25% of Apple’s touch panels, is experiencing a manufacturing problem. The issue is being described as a “delayed bubble” and is apparently hard to detect if not caught before the laminating process. Wintek responded by saying that all their products will ship on schedule. Don’t think this will have any impact on your ability to purchase this elite device. Chimei Innolux and TPK Holding account for the other 75% of iPhone 5 touch panels and are reportedly experiencing no production delays. We still hope to see this device come to market sometime in October.
