Samsung Droid Prime to be a Verizon Wireless Exclusive – With Ice Cream Sandwich
By Christopher Weaver

It appears that the latest Google branded phone is to be called the Samsung Droid Prime and will make its debut sometime in October. We originally thought this phone would be called the Nexus Prime, but if sources can be believed Verizon has tacked on the Droid name and has an exclusive with this device. There is still a possibility that the Nexus Prime may surface for other carriers considering it will be the first device to launch with Ice Cream Sandwich (that is if any of the “rumors” are true).

It would make sense for Verizon to have an exclusive on this handset due to the fact that they passed on the Galaxy S II. They do not want to have 2 high-end competing Android phones from the same manufacturer. Of course Verizon Wireless has yet to comment on this, but when new details become available you’ll be able to find them here.
