Sponsored: Inmarsat Brings Internet Access to The Most Remote Locations

by James Lenhart on August 19, 2011

Ever watch that show “Deadliest Catch” on the Discovery channel? It makes you wonder how those guys stay in touch with people using the internet while they’re out at sea. InMarsat, makers of the technology shown in the video below is capable of providing connectivity to even the most remote locations of the world. Inmarsat offers a service called FleetBroadband which is able to achieve speeds of up to 432kbps in the middle of the ocean — that’s pretty impressive when you think about it. The video below is an interview with Captain Sig Hansen where he describes his experience with FleetBroadband. He points out in the video that this enables his crew to travel with more peace-of-mind when they know they can call who ever they need no matter what the conditions. Even while going against 50ft waves.

We rarely do Sponsored posts and encourage you to support us by watching the video. Thanks!
